Project Lyttelton

Project Lyttelton is a grass roots community group that works towards creating a vibrant sustainable community. It has a flat organisational structure, is values based and looks at what is possible rather than what is not working.

A lot of what we do is focused around enhancing well being in our community.

We run the weekly Farmers Market each Saturday morning. The Winter Festival of Lights is another well known project. The Garage Sale is an icon in Lyttelton. Time Banking is one of our passions – we like this in part because it encourages reciprocity as it builds stronger community. Our community garden is coming back up to strength after land problems post earthquakes.
